I'm getting 100 lbs of the 17% chick finisher - I figure that will take me through 2 months. Although I just looked at the gauge on the feeder and they have consumed half a 50 lb bag in the last 2 weeks.

"I think it's OK to keep the chicks outside if they stay with their mother and they are protected from predators (in a coop).
Otherwise, you need to bring them in and brood them for about 6 weeks.
