Sounds like you have a good plan Grace. What's to lose except a few seeds and with the VPA's seed bank, there's really nothing to lose. Stick a seed or 6 in soil and see what happens. Good luck.
Maybe I'm missing something but didn't your neighbor say he planted in May? This is May.....What am I not understanding here?
