Well HELLO!
I was just thinking about you the other day, wondering where you have been and what you have been up to! Silly hens! We had one go broody this summer, they all molted, went on strike, but seem to be back in the groove. We are trying to start the winter garden, but it has been slow going. About ready to "cheat" and get starts, these seeds are driving me crazy! Our chicks have been sequestered to the coop until the garden can handle them. They eat everything, and they are FAST!
Hubs is getting ready to re-build our coop and you were so kind to send me links of where you bought yours from Lowes (I think)...for the life of me, I can't find that email you'd sent Would you - in a spare moment - be so kind to send it again? thanks! lylah
It was great meeting you too! I love home tours, it helps to generate ideas. Since we are so close we could be chicken backups to each other if baby sitters are needed for hens :)
"That chart is so cool! My two old girls had started to lay again about 3-4 weeks ago. Now one of them has stopped again the past 2 weeks. I can't figure it out. :) ????"
"Most chickens will not be exhibiting the severe signs of coccidiosis, unless they are on the verge of death. Mild to moderate cases will cause all of the symptoms listed for these hens and are the leading cause of low or lack of egg production any…"
"Oh Becky I am so sorry, that is HORRIBLE & cruel. I cannot believe someone would do that to your chickens. You must have been heartbroken.
Even when I have a chicken sitter I use a 3 gallon h2o & 2 gallons (total of 5 galls. for 4 hens) . I am so…"
"To clarify- all organic feed is non-GMO, essentially all conventional feed is GMO, I have never seen any feed labeled "non-gmo". Stick with organic and you can be sure to avoid the GMO problem. As much as I despise GMOs, the reason most people's…"
"One thing to verify is if "everyeone "is using the same feed from the same source. If this is GMO it is bad bad bad. and most of the corn and soy is GMO especially in the USA. It has to say NON GMO on the corn to be sure. do your homework We just…"
"They're just over 1 year old but my 2 year olds were laying well through the summer too. (Until they died in August due to an idiot that said he would take care of my chickens while I was out of town and then didn't! They ran out of water. I'm still…"

Hope your chick is doing better! Something I give my girls as a health tonic that they love is plain yogurt with minced fresh garlic.
