Hi Peggy. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with me. It only takes 2, to create a self sustainable community. I look forward to meeting you. I would really admire and appreciate your ideas as we both are willing to gain knowledge. I plan to visit come communities here and gain some ideas. Feel free to do the same on your end. Let's do this. Talk soon. Have a lovely fall day. Oh here is my home address.
I ordered the seeds/trees from this website http://www.moringatreeoflife.com/Order.html. The lady just happened to be coming up to phx the next day so she brought the trees and seeds up to me. $12/50 seeds and $5/1gal trees. So far 11 trees are still growing. 1 shriveld up and died, not sure why?? And my dog stepped on another one, but so far its still alive. They've been in for a month now and have doubled in size, but aren't growing nearly as fast as I thought they would. They are all 6" tall. I planted them all along my block wall at different places around the yard with lots of differnet exposures. The lady I bought them from said not to plant the seeds till May so the soil temps would be warm and stay warm. How did you plant yours? They are all the olifera species.
My cross streets are 36th street and cactus, I am about a mile west of paradise valley mall. Just north of the Road Runner park with its farmers markets on Saturday.
hiya and thanks again for the eggs! One of my friends works at the Boulders and would like 2 or 3 dozen. She says she can come by and pick them up from you after work. Is that anything you're comfortable with? Let me know for future reference and I'll give her eggs for now.
"Hello,
Please add me to the spreadsheet. North / Cave Creek / Desert Hills. 24th st & Carefree Hwy. I have 4 dogs, 2 goats and chickens.
I am looking forward to helping out. Please email me for private contact information. I'll gladly provide…"
I would love to know more. Gardening here in the North Valley (Desert Hills) has been quite challenging as well as expensive. Looking for ways to share what I have available (some land, water) with others. I also am looking for…"
"It would be great if this movement could take on some steam. I have a garden, some chickens, goats and 4 dogs. For me to "hire" a house sitter it costs me over a $100 a day. Needless to say my husband and I haven't been anywhere in 3 years, and…"
"Hello, I saw your reply in a post where you mentioned you planted some moringa trees. I have tried germinating seeds 3 times, differently each time unsuccessfully. Do you have any pointers. May I ask did you buy the new trees you planted, and…"
"Welcome Angela. I'm a new gardener too. I'm starting a summer garden using the Lasagna method. Looking forward to hearing what works and what doesn't in your garden."
"I would be happy to add her to my flock. I have about 15 other chickens. I am up in North Phoenix. I'd be willing to meet you somewhere so you wouldn't have to drive so far.
"Everything I have read says it will. I am just starting my first lasagna garden myself. I am really excited.
I am going to start a lasagna garden post to see if we can get some more feedback.
"You need to learn about lasagna style gardening. You won't have to do anything with prepping the areas except for laying down cardboard or newspaper right on top. This will kill everything below it and be the first layer to your soil. I love it…"
