About Me:
I'm vegetarian (vegan), was brought up organic (my parents were members of the Soil Association in England back in the 1940s), enjoy turning everything into compost and planting/tending fruit trees. I know nothing about growing veggies but am hoping to learn!

sorry, no, i'm not planning on going to that one. perhaps if you post on the event that you're in need of a ride, someone else may be able to help. it looks like a good tour but i've been real busy lately so i'm just going to focus my energies around here for a while. spent most of today and some of yesterday working on the garden. i can feel autumn in the air finally =) how is your wall coming?
and yes, i do think there should be lots of life in the compost. i just think maybe next time that i'll be a little more cautious about throwing weeds(actually weed seeds) into the mix. i've always felt that weeds were just underappreciated plants, and i'd love the extra life in the garden, BUT, i think i better concentrate more on increasing the number of intended plants first, and then if i get a few volunteer weeds, they can have a nice home in my garden. i don't like to kill anything that's got such a will to live.
i do think it's really exciting , looking at my compost and witnessing the changes as it turns to dirt. i've gotten a few mushrooms growing in it, though right now, it doesn't seem to be doing much. it's pretty neat watching the cycles of life,
