Jeanne Tavares posted a discussion in Micro Livestock
Would anyone here know of an intact golden retriever male? I'll be in need of stud service in the next month or two and my search in other venues has come up with no responses. I'm located in the far, far, NW valley.

"Yes, I've been a bit disappointed that there are few/no classes or events for those of us who live way, way, waaaaaay out west. I'm another 10 miles further west than you, and much north, too, above the Carefree Hwy alignment. I've not been looking…"

"For stewing chickens, I'm a great fan of my pressure cooker. I let the last batch cook with the weight rocking ever so gently for most of an hour. The meat came out very moist and intensely flavorful and as tender as possible for older hens."

Jeanne Tavares replied to Carmel Bartek's discussion Which chickens are best in Maricopa County? in Micro Livestock
"My overall best layers are the two easter eggers. I'm not sure if they are Auracaunas, Americaunas... but mostly golden colored, cheek muffs, greenish legs, laying blue/green eggs. With 15 birds, I get two or three colored eggs for every dozen laid."

"I also had a hen that sounds similar to your bird. I did get the hen apron for her, which she wore for several months while the weather was cooler. The feathers on her back have fully feathered out again, and she no longer wears her apron. The tail…"

"Oh No!!! You almost want to believe that it was a coyote, as that would be more forgiveable than neighbor letting their dogs run amok causing havoc."

"Hi Walt! I enjoyed looking over your photo album. It's always interesting to see what other home farmers are doing and trying. Are you raising any animals? or just the garden?"
