  • Hi Heather-

I'm a former student of your veggie design class and a current PDC student. I have a questions for you about your class on Saturday, and was hoping for a response before then. It's regarding a fundraiser idea for a seeedball class for kids that I'm teaching at the Glendale Green Event at the Glendale Public library at the end of the month. Please get back to me as soon as you can, either here aor at artschoolgirl@gmail.com.

    Thanks!

    Jennifer
  • Heather - is there anyplace locally to buy red clover seed? I've called several Feed/Seed stores in East Valley, but no one had it; all suggested online. Also have no idea how much to buy. Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks -
  • Good morning. I am interested in container gardening, and was told to email you, as you cover some in your 4 week classes. I was wondering if it was possible to just come to the 1 class, and if so which out of the 4 it was? Thank you in advance for any help in this matter. Nico
  • I was wondering, and others might be confused, about the samonella outbreaks recently, such as the Spinach, Peppers (that they thought were Tomatoes), and now Peanuts. Is that something inherent in the plant itself OR is it a result of manufacturing, and we can plant, grow and eat those items and others without worry from our own gardens?
  • I'm glad to see the excitement of the people who have taken your class!! I can't wait. I'm new to growing edibles; had lots of success with my shrubs, trees and flowers - that is, I haven't killed them yet - lol.
  • Never mind I found it. Thanks Liz :)
  • We were interested in getting something that you mentioned in class but can't remember wht it was called. Micro something or other? You said after you buy a bottle you can grow it yourself like yeast and that the closest local place to get it was Tuscan.
  • I've attended the last 3 classes all of which have been wonderful. I've gardening here for about the last 10 years, but have learned much from you. Thank so much for sharing your knowledge!

  • Holiday Greetings Heather,
Loved your vegetable class; I've been busy building my lasagna style garden and even brewing some EM-1 to make it last a bit longer. I was curious what you thought about the Humate information and product that I gave you; do you think its a worthwhile product? My plants seem to be happier since I started using it but then I'm doing a lot of different things since I took your class so not sure how much credit to give to the Humate. Thanks much! Liz
  • Is it OK to use concrete blocks as perimiters for lasagna gardening? I have to keep my tortises out and don't want wood as I have had termites in my house before, or is untreated cedar termite resistant???
    Thanks! Loved your gardening classes.
    Linda

"Could you open a section and "herd" them that way? You would need a large group to convince the bunnies to move where you want them. Check for holes in the fence or under, since they got in some how. Gophers will start to be a problem too this time…"

Hi All! We appear to have two bunnies who have managed to get themselves inside the 'protective' fencing surrounding the school garden at Mesa Community College. My poor students have had to watch their winter transplants nibbled down literally…
