About Me:
My interest in gardening began two summers ago when my children and I had the pleasure of house sitting for a man in Pt. Townsend, Washington who had 5 acres with organic gardens and many fruit trees. I think I'd be happy to sit and dig in the dirt all day! I'm really excited about learning more about growing food in the desert, especially native and heirloom varieties, composting, and local cooperative gardening projects. And, I'm hoping to make some new friends along the way!

I have been meaning to create the time to do gleaning work, yet I keep finding no free weekends due to all the PDC events... I unfortunately missed Local to Global 'cause my yard was asking for attention....
I don't have any plans to head out to the west side for the rest of the week or I would offer to be with Tatiana or assist you in what would be most beneficial for you...
Congrats on teaching the class at the Glendale event. Are you donating your time to do that? Will you be getting "hands on" hours?
Got Ken Singh's compost, compost tea, and fish fert., so last week was all about that getting out of Mark's truck and into the backyard. We then went to get a velvet mesquite and sweet acacia. Completely shifted the vibe in the back and it was as if the backyard exhaled and now is breathing fully....Mark is inspired and we have a lot of plans....Have to find out about adobe vs. strsw bale vs. cobb due to plans to create a few things... Planted some loofah seeds that Ken gave me and am hoping that it will start growing fast to shade the sw part of house...after we saw how expensive lattice is, Mark decided that he will buy a small table saw and custom make for living walls all over the house on the south and sw sides... he is a woodwrker without a saw and noce to have him start again...I bought a scarlet runner bean for $3 at the Phx pub market Sat before we took Doreen's pruning class and it has doubled in size and I still haven't got it in the ground yet. Isabel was not joking when she said they grew fast....
Please, keep me in tune to what you require, since I do head out that way....
Be well sweet Jennifer~~~~breathe deep~~~allow mother earth's rhythms to guide you....hugs to Tatiana:)
PS I have noticed my immune system has gotten so much stronger since I have been in class and dirt...hmmm....definitely a calling;)
In the dirt with two tiny children in tow is how I started too. (very long ago now).
By the way, I have some really cute cards made up with "setting out" instructions for seedballs you are welcome to the ones I have on hand and the E doc on which they are based for your Glendale project. They work really well with business card forms.
Hope this find you and T well these days.
How are you coming along?
How was Local to Global?
I tried to make it and will share later.....
Just checking in and eager to here how you are being inspired and inspiring others these days...
Love to you and Tatiana,
Jenn
Smiles and infinite blessings,
Jenn
