Welcome to the Valley Permaculture Alliance, a local 501C3 non-profit education organization that offers classes, training, activities, tours, events and demonstrations on various aspects of sustainable living around the Greater Phoenix Valley. You can read more about the VPA on the ‘About Us’ page, and explore the many groups and resources this Ning “social networking site” has to offer, as well as customize your own Profile Page and connect with new like-minded friends.
We encourage you to browse the discussions, blogs, videos, comments to get a feel for our incredibly resourceful community, and to share your interests as well. There are many volunteer opportunities to assist with classes and events, so please let me know if you are interested in helping out when available.
We offer a variety of classes to our members on a donation basis (usually $10 to $25) that goes toward venue hard-costs, also to our experienced and knowledgeable instructors, as well as to support the non-profit in providing quality education for improving our health, our communities and environment. See what classes you may be interested in attending atwww.phoenixpermaculture.org/events - and feel free to contact us with any questions.
Thanks!

About Me:
Too much to list. My current project is a 4 acre ranchito which needs a garden, better animal housing for a pig and chickens and a few bulldozed acres reforested and planted with food plants.
"I live about 20 minutes North East of Pima and Dynamite. My daughter is at swim school every Monday and Tuesday and I go places so, I could meet her somewhere."
"I probably have quite a bit more invested in the birds at this point so, I'm sure I would be loosing 5 or 10 bucks if I sold some at fair market value. I probably spend more than I should on deep shavings, grogel, quick chick and stuff. I would part…"
"I've read that small home flocks do not need it. I've never had it done. If they have contact with other chickens besides your own, it might be something to research."
"I like to use a warm wet washcloth on the pasty butt. You just hold it for a while until it softens up enough to tug off. It feels mean you pull feathers with paste..."
"I just added 4 straight run aracauna bantams to me order which will be delivered early next week..
poultry will be delivered Sunday February 12, 2012 - Wednesday February 15, 2012
The aditional cost was $21.55.
I can take your roosters later if you…"
"I just called and the hatchery said they can add them to my order if they have them. I realized that my order ships this week.
I live about 15 minutes from Pinacle Peak in North Scottsdale.
Check the website and let me know if you want me to add…"
"I have an order coming in a week or so and I could probably add to it without incuring additional shipping charges....
I do live about 45 minutes from you though.
Murray Mcmurray says the chicks you want are available."
"We used to have rabbits and used the cave system. Dug a 20 inchish deep trench inside their pen, dropped a slab of salvaged concrete over most of the hole and burried the rest with dirt except for an entrance. The rabbits did fine in the 100+ temps."
