About Me:
Retired Phoenix paramedic firefighter. Married to the same lovely lady for 34 years, two grown children and two grandsons.
We have 1.5 acres with a small orchard and large garden next to the Hassayampa River 2 miles downstream from Wickenburg. We have been gardening for our entire marriage. I recently became a raw vegan and am interested in growing my own organic produce. I want to make my soil the best it can be to improve the quality of the vegetables. I am interested in educating myself in nutrition and native foods as well.

question for you, i noticed that you do the wheatgrass and was wondering if you need a juicer specifically designed for the grass , or will any juicer do. i know that humans are unable to digest it in grass form, but wasn't sure if it required a special type of juicer. i am thinking about investing in a juicer ,but would like to know from someone who already juices, what applications i can use it for.

Thanks for the address. We live in Wickenburg which is about 50 miles northwest of Phx. I go to Phx. College in the evenings two nights a week, and also do errands down there often. I am always looking for some place to eat and shop that fits my raw food needs. I look forward to coming into your store, and if possible meeting too. I can hardly get my wife to go down to the valley since she is so comfortable in our rural setting, and hates the traffic, but you never know! Thanks for the invite. J
Here are the web sites, it is a great space. If you are a morning person starting in october there will be early morning meditations. If you and your wife stop by let me know and I will make a point to meet you. Peace and blessings namaste

thanks for the comment. my boyfriend thought i was crazy when i was getting the broken concrete, but he likes it now. i have more rocks to haul and more concrete to put in, but i'm trying to do a little planting to reward myself for all the heavy work earlier.
as for the grapes, i think it's too late for them. that was my "before" picture. i can't bring myself to take an "after" yet. i think i overcared for them. maybe overwatering, they were doing real well, but i went away for about 4 days so i watered them REAL good before i left and when i came home they were shriveled up. they'd already been in the ground for a few months, so it shouldn't have killed them. my first attempt at growing grapes so i hope to gain some knowledge as to not kill the next ones.
