About Me:
I am currently a horticultrist at the Phoenix Zoo. Wow what an experience it has been. They've helped with go from learning about just growing edibles organically...to making soil, not buying it in a bag. Composting, terracing, water harvesting, famine foods, irrigation parts and clocks. It's an incredible place to grow with the seasons.
I am also a supporter of farmer's market, natural medicine and creating being outside dancing in the rain or sun! :)
We are transforming our grassy bermuda lot into an edible forest with the intent to be a learning garden.

I posted a while back about natural pools. There seems to be a few posts about this, but they are now several years old. I am in Central Phoenix; I have an old Master Pool from the 80s, is a 9' diving pool. Is there something really cheap that can be done to convert this pool to a natural pool? Has anyone converted a pool in the Phoenix area who is willing to share their experience? I would love to hear from them and to find out their ideas, distresses, successes, etc. I am sick of the pool just sitting there taking up electricity and water. I want to grow tilapia and other plants in it, if possible, without a lot of expenses, since I will be on SSA.
Welcome to the Edible Desert Committee group page. We don't have much action going on right now but we'll work on it!
Best wishes,
