Thanks, Ericka. I've been gardening all my life, but just became aware of this group today. It feels like coming home. I'm registered for two classes and am looking forward to many more, learning new information and meeting like-minded folk.

Thanks. I'm glad to be getting connected to a local group. I am interested in sharing ideas about becoming more self- sustaining in the city. I have some edible plants started, chickens, and plans to get more energy efficient.

Hi, thank you. So glad to have found this group! That's so awesome that you used to raise monarchs as a kid! I didn't know a whole lot about butterflies when I was a kid. When I was a kid I always wanted to live on a farm and have been captivated by nature.(Must have been my past life or something.) :) Not that long ago I had to go through what I thought at the time was going to be a difficult loss that ended up turning into more of a magical and uplifting experience with the help of butterflies, Ever since my kids and I can't get enough. I can appreciate those fond memories you had as a kid. I'm so glad my girls will too. I don't understand why more places don't sell milk weed. It's so hard to find out here. I look forward to meeting you and becoming an active member. I am planning on attending the Living Green Conference tomorrow maybe I will see you there?

Thanks for your good common-sense answer regarding mulch. I will bring it up with Don Titmus when my wife and I attend the permaculture design course!

Dear Ericka, I saw your post about the free mulch that you found on Craigs List. I have found some too, and wonder of its quality -- that is, if it may contain toxic sprays, or similar.

What is your opinion on this?
