    Thanks for joining the Valley Permaculture Alliance (VPA) website! VPA a Phoenix-based 501c3 non-profit that offers classes, training, activities, tours, events and demonstrations on gardening, small livestock and other topics related to urban farming and sustainable living.     Finally, there are many volunteer opportunities to assist with classes, the seed library, in the office and at events like the annual Tour de Coops and Mesquite Pancake Breakfast. If you would like more info on volunteering, please let us know.

We are hosting a Volunteer Orientation at the VPA Office on Thursday, July 11th at 6:30pm-8:00pm, and we would love for you to be there. Please RSVP here. "If you teach your kids to be responsible around bees and watch the younger ones, you shouldn't have any issues.  In some cities, people are allowed to raised them on apartment balconies.  It's not so much about space as it is respecting the bees.  …"

"I traded with a friend to get mine.  Mine need to grow again before I give them out.  Check craigslist or local sites like that.  You can even get dried ones off amazon. "

I have extra scobies on a regular basis.  Call/text me if you are ever interested.  I do water kefir and both are just as easy.  The kombucha is more of an aquired taste.  I like mine right…"

"My coop is in a similar area.  Thankfully, one of the three walls is my house, so it provides shade.  My coop is all wood and mesh.  The top is shade screen.  I haven't had any problems, thankfully.  I do turn a fan and misters on for extreme heat…"
