Thank you for joining the Volunteer Group with the VPA!
Here are a few of the upcoming volunteer opportunities we still need volunteers for:
SHADE TREE EVENTS
SRP & APS are giving FREE shade trees out to their customers (if you didn't already know this, I strongly encourage you to check it out since you are all SRP customers)...all the customer has to do is go on-line and register to attend a workshop that will help inform them of how to take care of the tree. If you would like to get a free shade tree and volunteer - it would be the perfect opportunity! As you can imagine, it takes quite a few hands to make this program possible, so we are constantly in need of volunteers at these events.
VPA offers a wide variety of classes to the public. We like to have 2 volunteers present at each class to help set-up, register the folk coming, and to clean-up afterwards. Having 2 people helps us to pair a new volunteer with someone who has done it before. The instructor bring all the registration materials. Class Assistants get to attend the classes free. Upcoming classes are below:
Please let me know if you would be interested in any of the above opportunities. If you have questions, feel free to reach out and contact me! I look forward to seeing you around.
Hi Lisa, it's wonderful having you here. I suspect you have a lot of things you can teach others of us, and you'll find there's plenty to learn here as well. I hope you get a chance to check out our Permaculture for Kids group while you are taking a look at all of our other groups, Forum postings, classes and such. Domestic goddesses (and gods) and Permaculture make a perfect match. Permaculture's all about making one thing work in multiple ways and setting up your environment in the most efficient (and often money-saving) way. Sounds like one of the many facets of a domestic goddess's job description! Welcome to the VPA!
Sincerely, Jane Doyle Program Coordinator Valley Permaculture Alliance

You are welcome, Lisa - I think everyone should have their second 'job' as a gardener - in their own back yard :-)
