I had a group of chicks all about the same age growing up together and then lost my two welsummers... so I just bought three gold laced wyandottes to replace the welsummers. The problem is I have five chicks at four weeks now and three at 2 days old... if I put them together will the 4 week old chicks try to kill the 2 day old chicks? I know hens would kill the chicks but since they are all still young would it be okay?

i put 7 week olds with 2 days old and the seem to be perfect. Also we have a couple of 2 week old chicks so that could make a difference.
I recently put 6 week and 8-10 week chicks in the coop together that had never met and they did great!

My 6 week old chicks keep wanting to go into the yard where the 5 month old hens are. Today one chick got into the yard and she sure was sorry!
I've never done it before but if it were me I would try it. It's much easier to integrate them when they are little than when full grown. Just watch carefully! The temperature would be different but if you have a big enough brooder they can control it themselves. Just make sure there is a place in the brooder where the temp suits both ages.If it doesn't work now, it might work in a week or so when the little ones are a little bigger. Again, watch carefully!
Or if you can separate the brooder with wire mesh or fencing to keep them together but separate that might work better until the little ones grow up some.
Let us know how it goes!
I think the temperature would be different for each age group.....
