About Me:
Formerly a teacher in Flagstaff, I currently am president of Gardens for Humanity. Our organization is involved in creating school and community gardens in Sedona and the Verde Valley, and working with others to promote an "agricultural renaissance" and promote local food, energy and economic security. I have lived in Sedona for 30 years and have been an organic gardener for 40 years.

You have a lot going on! It would be great to be able to get out of here during the summer to spend time in Sedona, but after growing up in MN I don't mind the heat. I would take 110 over -40 any day! It is great that you have family in town, I looked on your son's profile at Taliesin and saw that he is a graduate of the program there. I went to the U of MN to study architecture (I only have a BA major in ARCH). As part of the program we visited Taliesin East. FLW has some amazing homes around the greater Chicago area.
Well, if you're in town during the winter months, maybe you would like to teach a class or two while you're here? I'm sure you've learned a lot about community and school gardens and what differentiates a successful effort from one that languishes over time. Doreen has taught some community garden classes for the VPA and in fact there is the upcoming ACGA regional conference that she has been working on recently: http://www.communitygarden.org/learn/training/annual-conference/reg...
Just a thought, you know if you were looking for something fun to do while your here. :) Liz
