Your local CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) has a delivery location right in Tempe.
Crooked Sky Farms supplies the fresh local produce. Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is like a subscription service for local produce. The
consumer directly pays a local farmer ahead of time for a weekly delivery of fresh veggies, etc. Then the consumer comes to a specified place at a specified time in order to pick up their produce.Crooked Sky Farms supplies the fresh local produce, a 100% organic farm, although they are not certified yet.
The produce is harvested at most 48 hours before you come to pick it up, so you can be well assured that the produce is High Quality.

HOW DO I SIGN UP: email me at tawnyscrawnylions@yahoo.com
At the very latest, I need to have all contracts and checks in my hands by any Tuesday before any thursday pick up day at the church. For example, by Tuesday June 24th in order to pick up on Thursday June 26th. The farm needs 48 hours notice in order to harvest the fruits and veggies for the pickup. This guarantees you the right and privilege of taking produce home from crooked sky farms!
MY PREFERRED OPTION TO SIGN UP IS THE ONE THAT SAVES THE MOST PAPER: send me the contract via email in word format and put your check in the mail OR drop it off at my house.
another option is to mail or drop off your money and a paper contract or an email contract to me at my home:
Andrew Greaves
7440 E. Thomas 274Scottsdale, AZ 85251
Envelopes fit fine under the door. I can send you detailed instructions on how to get to my house, if you wish.
Another option is to stop by the drop off to see if you can pick up some veggies because the farm will always be bringing a couple extra shares for people who just happen to show up.
We have a Yahoo! group which is very useful because it is only in this way that I can be reassured that CSA Members are receiving the emails that I send out. I have about 100 individuals that I send out information to every week about the CSA and if I use regular e-mail, it is possible that the CSA Members' E-mail will identify my E-mail as spam and then it might not be delivered or just delivered as Junk Mail.Yahoo will also tell me that I am a spammer if I put more than 100 addresses in a send to line. All of our group communication takes place here. Our newsletter is sent out through this medium. It is not mandatory that you sign up to be a member of the Yahoo! group in order to be a member of The CSA. Here are instructions on how to sign up for the Yahoo! group

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
QUESTION 1 : WHAT IF I AM NOT GOING TO BE HERE FOR THE FULL 12 WEEK PERIOD? I WILL ONLY BE HERE FOR 7 OUT OF THE 12 WEEKS THAT THE 12 WEEK SESSION WILL BE GOING ON. Imagine you will be on vacation till tuesday September 19.
When you get back in September you can still sign up, the only difference will be that you need to send me a check that will need to arrive at the latest a tuesday before any thursday you want to pick up. For example, you will pick up one time in September starting on September 25th and five times in October, once in November. That's 7 times, so You simply multiply 25 (weekly rate) X 7 = 175.That way, it's cheaper than $216 and you can sign up for our seventh twelve week contract which will start on November 13th, 2008. If you sign up early for the seventh contract, $216. Late:$240.
You can also just show up at the church hoping to be able to pick up a share of food whenever you want however I can't make a reservation for your food with the farmer until I have a check.
QUESTION 2:
What if we want to split the share? Who writes the check when we split the share? Whose name do we put on the contract if we want to split the share?
One person writes the check, but two people should be listed as people that can pick up on the contract.

YOUR COMMITMENT: This is directly from the contract.
As a member of the Crooked Sky Farms – Tempe CSA project, I understand that I am making a commitment to support a regional farmer and to share in the rewards and the risks of the farmer’s harvests. I agree to pay my subscription payment in full in advance of the session. I am contracting to receive a designated share of weekly produce available at the designated pick-up site. I understand that my share does not guarantee me an exact amount or selection of produce. I also understand that my payments are non-refundable. It is my responsibility to pick up my share weekly at the designated time and place and bring my own box/bag to gather my share. I understand that if I am out of town or otherwise unable to receive my share at any time during the season, I am responsible for contacting a friend or neighbor to gather my produce, and that my share will be distributed within the CSA community or donated to others if it is unclaimed within the designated times on pick-up days.
Something completely different that I thought maybe some of you would appreciate reading about. It's a big festival up in Sedona on 9/12 thru 9/14.
