  • I live in Desert Hills and have a chipper available. It is a heavy duty and should handle just about anything you got. Let me know if you would like to put something together as you suggested.

    • hey peggy, sorry, I just looked at this reply. I need to start remembering to click the follow button on the bottom of the discussions. I'll probably be looking to chip up some trimmings about mid summer. I'll definately let you know. (And hopefully pay you in homemade prickly pear jelly!!)
  • I just put a call into a guy that has a small $50 chipper. Looks like it could take about 2" diameter branches. I would be more than happy to buy this for the N. Permies (I won't say no to help though)
Does this size seem stupid to buy? Should we wait for something bigger? I think for my purposes and "sharing size" restraints this would work!
    • The guy never called back...darn, maybe i'll keep my ears open
    • Hi, I had a chipper for a while, a little guy which did about what this one does. It jammed constantly, even on the little stuff. That's just FWIW...this one could be a better thing, but I'd sure want to see it work before I paid for it.

    • Thank you so much for the advice. I should bring over some sticks if he ever calls me back. By the way, what does fwiw mean?
    • took me a minute too. for what it's worth
    • sorry, years of emailing I don't think about those abbreviations anymore... :-D
