Misting systems for livestock

Anyone have any experience in setting up misting systems for livestock? We have some nigerian dwarf goats and chickens that would appreciate the extra cooling as the summer heat is on coming. Thanks Dave

  • I have been using the Orbit basic mister kit from Lowes or WalMart.  It was 19.99 and worked great last Summer. This year it needed some maintenance and a small $2 part replaced, but the good thing is it can easily and cheaply be repaired. I don't have it set up for the goats, but do have it in the chicken run. It comes with about 10' of mister hose but you can add on to it. I am home during the day & run it four or five times a day for about 10 minutes, but many people have theirs on timers.
  • I have not used them, but have been looking at these thinking of getting one for chickens and tomatoes
