fertilizing and chickens

We would like to fertilize our grass without chemicals so as not to harm our free range chickens.  My husband thought steer manure would be good, but I have not been able to find any one who delivers.  Any suggestions on where to get steer manure or what other products might be good to fertilize with?

    As far as where to get it...scroll the farm & garden ads as well as the free ads on CL. Almost every day there is manure listed for free. You just have to go get it.

    I would probably go with manure or compost tea.

    You can top dress it with compost too. I don't know about delivery though, hopefully someone else will chime in on that.
