Sounds like great eventual retirement weather - slightly cooler but not much snow I would imagine. If you get up Phx way please email me at Julie@goldstarstaffingservices.com and I will give you our address and phone number. Always nice to visit with a fellow gardener :).
This is such a great site to learn about ARizona gardening. I have found the classes and the planting calendar to be invaluable. Sounds like you live in the southern part of the state? So many beautiful places to visit down there. I am in awe of your chicken set up...we are still deciding about a coop for 6 or 7 ladies, although I suspect it will be more once we get hooked. :)
Hi Cheryl - thanks for the comment on my produce - I have 14 tomato plants this season that are doing great and even have some small tomatoes already. I am hoping to do some canning in May. 165 chickens must keep you very busy...do you have them primarily for eggs or meat or both? I am in the West Valley - 43d Ave/Greenway - you are always welcome to come see our gardens...

"Beautiful produce! I'm jealous. We're just beginning to plant our garden this spring. I've gardened before, so I'll just have to learn how to garden in the Arizona climate. This site seems to be a good resource for friends and advice. Adding you as…"
