How does one clean a pot that has been used that may have mold in it. Does it need to be pasteurized? Or is there a household product that can be used to clean it out?

Clean thoroughly with soapy water. Then you could use very hot water 65 degrees centigrade 10 minutes. Or solarize, leave in the sun for a day or two (need to expose all surfaces which may not be so easy). The UV light kills bugs.
What I do though is add worm castings. They compete with and "smother" the pathogens, in this case mold. If you have more time you could grow a "crop" of worms in the pot or embed the pot in a worm farm if suitable ie big enough worm farm for the pot!
Chlorine based bleaches will kill off mold but then so does vinegar but may leave the spores.
