Monsoon planting

monsoon season is a good time for planting. try devil's claw, gourds, sorghum, basil, panic grass, corn, squash, beans and chiles. my I'itoi shallots are re-sprouting from their dormant stage too. rain is nice.

  • Hi, I'm glad I saw your post cause I was just wondering if it was best to plant before monsoon season or right after. So are you saying that even with the amount and velocity of rain falling these are not going to effect the seeds, such as scattering them or drowning them? I'm also looking at buying a property that has a river bed that forms during monsoon season. I was wondering if I could somehow catch that run off water and store it to water my garden. Any ideas? thx
