I just harvested a 5 gallon bucket-full of prickly pears. I put half of them, whole, in boiling water. Then threw them in the blender to pulse. My problem is that THERE IS SO MUCH PULP!! I have a cheesecloth to catch it, but it seems like the liquid can barely get through.
The rest I put in a freezer bag and is now sitting in the freezer...waiting to find a better way to extract its juice.
How about peeling them first? That is what my family does; but it's time consuming. Is this the best way to get less pulp?
Any suggestions are welcome!
