I thought this was an interesting article. Oregano oil is highly anti-bacterial so the concept is valid.
The one concern I would have is the use of it as a preventative - the same way modern drugs are used, so I would approach the concept with some caution. I could see cinnamon and other antioxidant rich foods as supplements.
Thoughts anyone?

That is funny Frances - when I had my hens (thinking about getting some again) they would eat anything I brought over to them - except, I had some lovely basil leaves - they eagerly took them and then did the chicken equivalent of 'pitouee' and whipped the beaks on the ground - it was really funny to watch.
Frances, you may find some details in the video link Fascist Nation posted on the forum. The farmer shows how they use the habits of the chickens to clear up and 'manure' sections. You may find other great ideas in the video to - about 42 minutes long and worth it. The chicken section is towards the end, and certainly they have an enormous property, but the concepts are applicable, I think anyway :-)
