My wife and I recently got a couple laying hens that we are unable to keep. They need to go to a home either with a VERY large lot, forgiving neighbors, or an enclosed coup/run!
Here's the story:
We are new to chickens and picked up a few RIR chicks. These three chickens are great but we like to free range them around our yard and leave the coop open during the day. They are still young but we haven't had any issues with them getting out of our yard.
Enter the two new chickens! These two have accepted the coup as home, but during the day have proven they like to explore. Despite a clipped wing, they have each managed to get out of the yard and into a neighbors (each one only one time, but for us, one time too many). It could be that some stuff around our yard are perfect jumps (trees, random structure from prior owner, etc.) but there is really nothing we can do there.
I've gotten about an egg a day from them, one cream colored and one a light blue (which I will miss given our other 3 aren't laying yet). If you are interested please give me a call at 602-369-2003. Any other suggestions about where I might find some interested parties are also welcome!
Thanks!
Jason
P.S. I don't know exactly what kind of chickens they are. They originally came from horse property that had a bunch of other chickens.

Just a note that if either you or Ray want to post pics of these birds, we can identify them for you. The one that lays the blueish egg is an Ameraucana or Easter Egger (basically an equally good but mutt version of an Ameraucana).
