If you're interested in learning about and experiencing poultry butchering, The SupUrban Farm & Garden is holding two classes on Saturday, May 5, 2010. One will be at 9:00 a.m. and the other at 2:00 p.m.
You'll learn:
- How to prepare your birds
- About tools and equipment
- How to terminate and bleed the bird with minimal trauma to the bird
- Plucking techniques
- Evisceration (gutting)
- And proper aging and storage
All participants receive a handbook and take home the chicken they processed.
Registration is $20. Guests are $5.
Class is held in northeast Gilbert.
