I went on one of the permaculture home tours last year, and they had a tank of water with little tiny fish that supposedly can eat a TON of mosquitos. Does anyone know what kind they are? Where someone can get them?

i dont have any more, our pond was out of control and the fish had full bellies! we drained the pond and got down to one, lone fish after a few months.. he lived til it got really cold, where we had that frost/freeze this past winter.
when we first got em we watched them eat the larvae in a jar first. fun for the kids!

that is really generous of you! where do you live? What would be a good time?
I live about 35th Ave & Camelback. I have Friday's and Saturday's off of work, so anytime those days. You might want to bring something to catch them with.

Maybe Friday - around 2pm or so? I can bring a little net, and a jar. What is your exact address? My direct e-mail is pamelar6802@gmail.com, ifyou don't want to put your address on the permaculture site.
Gambusia
We got ours from the "The Lily Pond" Lady in central PHX. Click here for the contact info. By appointment only. She includes Gambusia with plant purchase. You just missed the class on bee blocks and mosquito traps, it was yesterday. Don had some available, perhaps he still has some, look in the comments to find him on the class link.
We have had our fish for about a year. They do the job, and we now have more fish because they keep procreating! They are live birth fish and do not need a pump, live in stagnant water, can take the heat and a fair amount of cold.
