Our hen finally started laying. The first egg was in the next box, the following 6 eggs have all been laid on the ground in a corner of the coop. How do I discourage her from laying there? Should I place a golf ball in the nest box?

Golf balls have worked for us, although if you can comfortably find them in the corner of your coop, does it matter? Ours lay both in the next boxes that have golf balls in them (and do not lay in the one without the golf ball, lol), and in several other locations in the barn. I just make sure to check all places every day.
