is this safe

I have an area in my backyard that I would like to grow some type of vine on. Would something like Jasmine or Honeysuckle be safe for My Girls? I now let them have the entire backyard and I am going to use the run as my garden spot. It's easier to fence in the vegies instead of the chickens.

  • My chickens eat just about every plant except the Blackberry bush . So if I was going to plant something that's what I 'd plant besides the fact you get blackberries each spring.
  • Honeysuckle (and blackberries) was a snack my siblings and I enjoyed while walking home from the school bus stop.
  • I wouldn't worry about the chickens getting poisoned or anything, I'd be much more concerned about the chickens decimating the plants. Usually if the vines are large enough, they'll only eat the bottom leaves that they can reach and the top ones will be fine so the plant survives. Protect the vines from the chickens until they get large enough (or plant larger plants).
