I think Maryann, the big red one, may be Bob. Would anyone like to have her/him? Also, this will leave me with two. The black one has been running about, puffing up some at the big one (but not yodeling... yet). If it turns out that she is a he, what would you recommend doing about the white one? The black one stays in the nesting box at night, as does the white one. If the black one is a rooster, should I give them both away and just start over next year? I can't have any roosters. We're not walking on the wild side in this part of Phoenix.

The red one definitely looks roo-ish.
The white one looks hen-ish.
From what I can see the black one looks hen-ish, but it's hard to tell in this picture. Black is hard to photograph without looking like a blob. ;-) My pullets "puff up" at each other all the time. That doesn't mean it's a rooster. Can you get a better picture? A side and top view would be helpful. How old are they?
If it turns out the black one is a rooster, I would get a friend or two for the white one. But I'm impatient, I wouldn't want to wait for next year. ;-) You can often find young pullets on backyardchickens.com in the AZ thread.
These are probably amongt the most photographed chickens in Phoenix. Everytime I have a question, there's a picture. These below are from 11/23. I got them at PRATTS. The very mean & pecky one went to a horse farm when it was maybe 5 weeks old (lady there has a lot of fowl). I'm thinking we got maybe 3 roosters and 1 chicken. I am not going to be able to send Maryann to 'freezer camp' at my house. (Someone else can do this if they'd like..)
