Help me find a home for my boys (roosters)

I have 3 boys that I must find a home or homes for.  Sam, Joe and Pete were born on 12/19/10.  They have recently started their cock-a-doodle-dooing.  I simply have too many boys and with a new batch of babies on the way I may get even more.  I don't know breeds very well, but from the pictures I've seen I think they are Rhode Island Reds.  If anyone would like one or all or knows of someone who might be interested, please let me know.

  • If you aren't averse to others eating your roos, put them on craig's list for $8-10 each and see if you get any takers. I understand you not wanting to eat your little guys, unfortunately that seems to really be the only practical solution if you're hatching out your own birds and getting a constant supply of roosters.
  • Can I ask why you're hatching all of these? I'm guessing since you aren't sure on the breeds that the eggs aren't from your personal flock. There are very few people on this board that are lucky enough to be able to have a rooster. Getting one every once in awhile from the feed store by accident is one thing, but if you're hatching them out it might be a good idea to start butchering. Sometimes it can be hard to do, but that is most likely what's going to happen to these roos anyway, you may as well benefit from the meat.
    • Yes, they are from my personal flock, I can tell you everyone's name, temperament, who laid what egg, etc., but I'm not that educated as to what the specific breed is yet. As far as the butchering, I know others may do that and yes I do eat chicken, but I just cannot kill someone that I've raised from a baby. Even though my father owned meat markets while I was growing up I just cannot bring myself to do that; crazy as that sounds, I just can't.
