Ha ha we are not alone...

This morning on the way to an appt, I turn the corner from my house and saw 3 big barred rock hens in someone's front yard. I noticed the gate ajar so got out and rang the bell to let them know their girls were out. No answer, so I herded the ladies through the gate. The homeowner then came out and was so thank-ful that I had stopped. We are definitely not alone, I never even knew my neighbors around here had any chickens. And of all people to drive by and find her hens it was me. You have to understand to that I live smack in the middle of PHOENIX, not a field or farmhouse anywhere near our neighborhood. So it's interesting to know that I'm not the only one around here keeping hens. Just thought I'd share.By the way her coop was GORGEOUS, I'm taking my husband over there right away so he can be inspired....Have a good day all!

  • Very cool story. :)
  • Any chance of talking your neighbor into posting her beautiful coop on the PPG site for us all to be inspired? I have had the pleasure of thanking my neighbors for helping round up chickens before and I'm so glad you stopped!

    • I can ask her to post a picture, or maybe I'll go over and take a pic, or even better, maybe my husband will duplicate the coop for my hens and I'll post that. One can dream....haha. And hey, maybe she's already a member of PPG and I just don't know it!
It's nice to have something in common with a neighbor.
  • good thing you were the one going by!!! I wish I had someone near me doing the same things we are, lucky you!
