Chicken Coop

Hello Everyone! It's me again - the future mom to 4 Delaware chicks. Well, we've decided to convert a large dog crate into their brooder. So that issue is solved, but now we are debating what we should do for their coop.We had initially planned to build it ourselves. Then I started looking on Craigslist and found a newly built coop for sale: http://phoenix.craigslist.org/evl/grd/1051965966.htmlThe builder also has a 6.5ft x 4ft coop available, which we are interested in.Personally I am liking the open design - we would plant vines on the two shorter sides for extra shade. I am just wondering if the coop isn't a bit too small for 4 chickens. We are planning to let them roam the yard for a few hours every day, but otherwise this would be their primary residence. I would also modify this coop by installing a lower roosting perch and possibly adding a board underneath the roosting area to collect their droppings. I am thinking this would keep their run cleaner and ultimately them healthier. But since we are complete novices to the backyard chicken adventure I was hoping to once again draw from your vast pool of expertise and get your input. Do you think this coop is an adequate choice? And if you have any pictures of your own coop, please consider sharing them. My main concern is to get all of our chickens safely through the summer. And unfortunately, the space for our coop is in a very sunny location of our yard - so we need a design that provides them with plenty of shade.Thank you so much for your insight!Maren
