Hi all. We are planning on getting chickens soon and I was wondering what people do when they go on vacation. I usually have my cousin watch the cat and house. I am not sure if he would be up to taking care of the livestock. Do you have a chicken watch share? If not, should we start one?

I love watching chickens. The main problem and the reason they need checked in on every day is that they can soil or tip the water and die of thirst.
I've seen automatic water fillers that can't be tipped and fill when the level gets low, but it doesn't keep the water clean. One day I might work something out. Hiring a petsitter is a grand idea.
