I just received an email from Mike at ASU who is looking for a home for two young female mallards who have not started laying yet. Please see the email copied below contact info. Thanks!
Hi Liz,
One of my lab mates mentioned that yourorganization may be interested in receiving some female mallards. Iwork with ducks in my research, and I have two females this year thatended up not being used in any experiment. Would you or anyone in yourgroup be available to giving them a nice home? So far, a few of myother birds have begun to lay eggs, but these two haven't (they're stillyoung), so I can't guarantee egg production. But, I'd say there's adecent chance they would someday!
Let me know soon. I have to have all of my animals off site by Thursdayafternoon, and I'd have to get at least 24 hour notice to the ASUadministrators to make sure everything was done legally/ethically.
Thanks!
~Mike
