A radish sandwich?

Hi Folks,

A radish sandwich? Specifically using radishes instead of or in addition to lettuce on sandwiches.  Why?  They are easy and fast to grow, they are rich in nutrients including potassium and B6, low in calories and like other members of the broccoli family are excellent for liver function, plus high in fiber.  Recently I have been using my radishes from the garden or farmers market on my sandwiches, the thinnest film of butter/olive oil spread, sliced radishes and meat, cheese or whatever.  Try them, you will get addicted too :-)

  • I just had one this week! I mixed tahini with tumeric and then loaded up the pita with greens from the garden...including radish sprouts. Since the seedlinsg needed to be thinned out anyways...i put the entire sprout on the sandwish, tops and all. it was very yummy.

I didn't knwo they were high in those mineral. hooray! :)

    • That sounds good too, Hassena.  The root thinnings are great for salads and sandwiches.  The whole broccoli family is just basically good for all of us. :-)
