Hi Susan,
Welcome to the VPA! Wow - having a chef for a mom sounds like a dream come true. I hope your girls know how lucky they are :) I love to cook and garden, but coming from Minnesota by way of California to the desert didn't prepare me for just how incredibly different the growing seasons would be here. It was learning to garden from scratch, so to speak!
You've come to the right place - everyone here is interested in the same sorts of things and many have a lot of experience to share!
