About Me:
I have been involved with sustainability issues for many years. Many of sustainability practices like rainwater harvesting, composting, and re-cycling are memories of my childhood growing up in a farming community in Iowa. We used to do all those things until the world changed with agra-business. The gardens of fresh produce grown near the fields are gone, the windmill no longer operates and the family farm raises grain for General Mills. I have better food in Arizona than Iowa, but I am returning to my roots drying clothes outside, using a pressure cooker, canning, and now I want to do more gardening and have control over what I eat and lower carbon diet.
I facilitate symposiums on sustainability through Awakening the Dreamer Change the Dream. The purpose is to change the dream of the north, meaning our wasteful consumption habits of convenience, etc. that is destroying the planet. We are in the sixth extinctsion on the planet of species.
My other life is an Academic Advisor at Mesa Community College that supports my goals.
