About Me:
I"ve worked for the City of Phoenix as the Employee Assistance Professional and Wellness Coordinator for 13 years. A couple years ago, I became a Master Gardener. I weave the gardening interests in with work and home. At work, I've supported a CSA with Crooked Sky Farms for 1 1/2 years. I'm going on my second year of having a garden at the Scottsdale Community Garden Club.

We have heard a lot about things being eaten there. What seems weird is that some haven't had to fence before. I wonder it this drought has finally caught up to the wildlife near there. So little rain so no real weed shoots to eat. We are just starting and plan on planting later in Jan. or early Feb. but focusing on soil building. We are trying to decide to fence or not. Might try some low tech ideas first, see what happens.
My husband took the PDC, it was a life changing event for us. I want to take the course as well some day. It is about creating whole systems that self-sustain themselves to a degree. Using nature to help instead of fighting it or trying to force it. Combinations of low-tech with high-tech, small changes, oh there is so much in that course! When do you go out to the Scottsdale Garden? Maybe we can chat with you more about it.
