  • Hey, David. Renu here. We used to cross paths years ago while I worked at Gila Crossing Community School. I saw you listed as a "maybe" for Jean's olive class. I thought, "I wonder if that is the David Van Druff I know?!" It is! You are! Maybe I'll see you tomorrow, or at some other VPA event. Or gardening in that great wide world out there....

    :)

  • Hi David,

We are grateful for your interest in continuing to volunteer during the summer while school is out.  You need not attend the volunteer orientation in order to volunteer as a class assistant especially because you have volunteered in the past and generally procedures have not changed drastically.  We do of course welcome you to attend to learn more about new upcoming features to the VPA volunteer program.
There are two ways to stay abreast of volunteer opportunities:
1). I send out a mass email to volunteers at the beginning of each month that outlines the upcoming volunteer opportunities for that month, just let me know if you would like to be added to that list and the email address you would like for it to be sent to.
2). I post volunteer opportunities on the "Volunteer" Group on the VPA website.  All you have to do is join the group and check occasionally for postings of volunteer opportunities.
Again, thank you for your interest in volunteering with the VPA :)
It's you, the volunteer, that make what we do possible.

    Best,
    Kat
  • Welcome to the Valley Permaculture Alliance, a local 501C3 non-profit education organization that offers classes, training, activities, tours, events and demonstrations on various aspects of sustainable living around the Greater Phoenix Valley. You can read more about the VPA on the ‘About Us’ page, and explore the many groups and resources this Ning “social networking site” has to offer, as well as customize your own Profile Page and connect with new like-minded friends.

We encourage you to browse the discussions, blogs, videos, comments to get a feel for our incredibly resourceful community, and to share your interests as well. There are many volunteer opportunities to assist with classes and events, so please let me know if you are interested in helping out when available.

We offer a variety of classes to our members on a donation basis (usually $10 to $25) that goes toward venue hard-costs, also to our experienced and knowledgeable instructors, as well as to support the non-profit in providing quality education for improving our health, our communities and environment. See what classes you may be interested in attending atwww.phoenixpermaculture.org/events - and feel free to contact us with any questions.

    Thanks!

    Mischa
