About Me:
We have a home in Apache Junction AZ, and I attend classes such as Dutch Oven Cooking and Survival Skills in the Desert at the Lost Dutchman Museum and classes in using the edible desert plants at the Boyce Thompson Arboretum. Right now I have a bountiful supply of mesquite beans ready to be harvested (I think), and am ready to share what results I come up with. In addition, my Jojoba bush/tree has recently yielded a large harvest of nuts, which I have used with great success in creating Sonoran Desert Jambalaya of which I have a photo as well as Pot Roast Sonoran Desert Style. These also include vegetables from my home garden, which I learned how to grow at the V.P.A. booth at Prepperfest 2013 and since then from the V.P.A. Newsletter.

Welcome to VPA! I see you're pretty far from the Central Valley, but we are actually having a Native Foods potluck this coming Saturday which would speak to your interest in Native Foods.
Here's the link to more info and the RSVP if you're interested in making the journey up: http://www.vpaaz.wildapricot.org/Events?eventId=920639&EventVie...
All the best,
Kate
