I have started a worm bin for composting and they are doing great!! I started with 1000 red wigglers in a large bin. The little worms I started with are now large and I see what I think are many worm eggs. My question is, when or maybe if, at what point do I need to start another bin and give them more space?

How nice that your worms are doing so well. I've done a lot of research and a little worm growing (I've unfortunately lost two separate populations over the last two years, the first to sawdust, and the second to BSF maggots, ants, and, ultimately the Amdro did them in completely). It seems that at some point, the worm population will stabilize itself based on the amount of food and bedding you are able to provide for them. If you can conveniently sustain a new environment, by all means, go ahead and start another bin, but you also have to decide how much time you really want to spend harvesting the castings, distributing them throughout your gardens and/or sharing with friends. I am currently looking for some more starter worms. I've missed my little friends for the past six weeks.

I purchased mine at the thunderbird park market. I think they were 1000/$30. And welcome to the guild :)
