What good is aquaponics?
Greetings. I would like to engage you in a question that I think you may find interesting. We know that aquaponics allows us to grow a lot of food. But what else is aquaponics good for? To answer this question, just flip the script. Instead of focusing on the food, focus on what problems do the food we produce or the method we use to produce the food solve or address? Here are a few examples we all know well:
Big Picture:
STEM education
Mitigating poverty/Food deserts
Urban infill
Sustainability
Family
Nutrition/Food quality
Reducing Water use/utility costs
So through this different lens, what do you see? What problems do we solve on all or any level? I look forward to your response.

I see a lot of fulfillment in regard to 'hobbyist' pursuits, it's a way to 'weigh' yourself and your devotion and exploration/research with others. Does that make it equal to 'Fantasy Football'????????? I'm not a player, nor a hobbyist, nor an egotist....are there ones out there who are purist and scientific for just the personal search? And....are there those out there who 'don't' see this as an opportunity for FORTUNE? I believe I am more on the purist, scientific, and no profit required side.....perhaps just in it for the world of the future.....

An excellent thought!
Under both Big Picture and Family I would add Organic food and non-GMO food. That could be included in food quality.
The STEM factor can apply to Family in the sense that the aquaponic learning curve contributes to critical thinking skills, and STEM intelligence should not be confined to schools. :)
More thoughts to come!
