OK, I have my system running and I cycles every 10-12 mins. Now I needs to start some seeds any suggestions? I've tried starting them in paper towels and putting them in to the grow beds but so far no luck. I also did newspaper.

It worked It worked. I can't believe it. I though for sure they would fall throw. Thanks so much. This is lettuce and a tomato just poked its head out today also.
OK, I'll give it a try. Just drop some seeds in and let them go. I am using to different mediums now. I have pea gravel in one container and hydroton in the other. I'll give it a ripe thanks for the advice.
I seed directly. It seems like the seeds would get washed down through the substrate, but they don't (I'm using hydroton). I do this for seeds as small as lettuce. Just sprinkle on the smaller seeds, and larger seeds (squash, sometimes beet/chard) I poke them in enough so that they aren't on top of the hydroton.
