      Hi Harsha,

Thank you for joining the Volunteer Group with the VPA!

Here are a few of the upcoming volunteer opportunities we still need volunteers for:

      SHADE TREE EVENTS

SRP & APS are giving FREE shade trees out to their customers (if you didn't already know this, I strongly encourage you to check it out since you are all SRP customers)...all the customer has to do is go on-line and register to attend a workshop that will help inform them of how to take care of the tree.  If you would like to get a free shade tree and volunteer - it would be the perfect opportunity!  As you can imagine, it takes quite a few hands to make this program possible, so we are constantly in need of volunteers at these events.

      3/10  Glendale Public Library

There are lots of different tasks our volunteers can do.  For additional info on specific tasks please visit: http://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C084FAEAD2BA46-srpshade

      3/24 Paradise Valley Community Center

      CLASS ASSISTANT OPPORTUNITIES

VPA offers a wide variety of classes to the public.  We like to have 2 volunteers present at each class to help set-up, register the folk coming, and to clean-up afterwards.  Having 2 people helps us to pair a new volunteer with someone who has done it before.  The instructor bring all the registration materials. Class Assistants get to attend the classes free.  Upcoming classes are below:

Thank you for choosing to join the Valley Permaculture Alliance, a local 501C3 non-profit education organization that offers classes, training, activities, tours, events and demonstrations on various aspects of sustainable living around the Greater Phoenix Valley. You can read more about the VPA on the ‘About Us’ page, sign up for our newsletter,  and explore the many groups and resources this Ning “social networking site” has to offer, as well as customize your own Profile Page and connect with new like-minded friends.

You’re encouraged to browse the discussions, blogs, videos, comments to get a feel for our incredibly resourceful community, and to share your interests as well. There are many volunteer opportunities to assist with classes and events, so please let me know if you are interested in helping out when available.

We offer a variety of classes to our members on requested fee basis ($15 or more) that goes toward venue hard-costs, also to our experienced and knowledgeable instructors, as well as to support the non-profit in providing quality education for improving our health, our communities and environment. See what classes you may be interested in attending by clicking our events tab, and feel free to contact us with any questions.

      Welcome to the VPA!
