Volunteer at Rio Salado Teaching garden 2-27-2010

Hi!

Please help me get our teaching/community garden up and running. I'm the only employee that works on this project and the Sustainable Food program is so new I don't have enough student help.

Satruday 2-27-2010 at 9am till 4pm.   Bringluch or there are plenty of places around here. Bathrooms and filtered water are available in the building, just bring a bottle.

We'll be building a wheelchair accessible raised redwood planter and double digging some 3' x 16' beds, building a pallet compost unit, and moving compost.

If a certified Permaculture Designer shows up I believe students can get credit toward work hours(Someone correct me if wrong!)

I'm at 1480 Hohokam drive Tempe AZ 85281

Either mapquest or I'll describe it:Take 52ns St. between Broadway and University.  Turn west onto 15th st.(Hotel on corner). 15th becomes Hohokam Dr in a couple hundred yards.

My driveway is after Homestead Suites, with 1480 on the wall.

Turn into driveway, then go left to the back of the parking lot to the garden.

See pics on my page.

  • Hi Peter, I'd be delighted to help! I am attending the garden tour that morning but I'll swing by after lunch. Should I bring any tools?
    • That's great. I have tools covered. If it's raining hard, assume we've cancelled. Thanks!!!
  • Peter,
Hi! I shall do my best to make it out and help that day! (Unfortunately this was the weekend I was supposed to get the ball rolling on my home garden but I can't refuse the call for help easily.)
