May 21st Community of Practice Meeting

Good Afternoon,

This month's CoP Community Garden Meeting will focus on food safety practices for your community or school garden. Learn about the exciting opportunity for schools to implement Food Safety practices in their school garden. Once implemented they are eligible to apply for certification from the AZ Department of Health Services so the produce grown in the school garden can be used in the school cafeteria. The free training is conducted by the UA Cooperative Extension and funded by the AZ Department of Agriculture from a Specialty Crop Block Grant provided by the USDA, Agricultural Marketing Service.

Our speaker will be Monica Pastor, Area Associate Agent of Agricultural Literacy and School Garden Food Safety at University of AZ College of Agriculture & Life Sciences Cooperative Extension, Maricopa County.

Join us for a FREE breakfast and engaging presentation from 9-10:30 am on May 21st at the Maricopa County Cooperative Extension, Ocotillo Room. The Cooperative Extension is located at 4341 E. Broadway Road Phoenix, AZ 85040.
