Project Title: School Garden Development Program
Position: Volunteer Curriculum Developer
Project Description: Valley Permaculture Alliance is looking to support school gardens in the area by developing a how-to guide to support start up school gardens and the development of infrastructure and sustainability of the garden.
Position Description: Volunteer Curriculum Developer will help to develop a how to guide on starting a school garden. Developer will assist other members of community in creating materials to support organization, funding, and development of a school garden. Developers will meet once or twice a month and work separately to develop and combine materials.
Recommended Qualifications:
Background in gardening/education
Started a school garden
Experience being a garden coordinator/educator/volunteer
Knowledgeable about school policies/procedures with gardens
Knowledgeable in curriculum development
Willing to research and develop curriculum on own time
Excellent collaboration skills
Displays strong community leadership
Target completion date: Hoping to complete before school year, Aug 2012.
