We are expecting our first baby next week and with c-section recovery and other issues I'm not feeling confident nor looking to care for them this summer. They are approximately 3 years old, bought them as chicks from the local stock shop and have been used to produce scraps, free range of backyard and doing their thing. 2 barred rock, 1 australorp. Must take All. Have a feed bad to go with. All free, prefer to be picked up ASAP as baby is coming next week and I will not be going outside after that , thanks!
Buy, sell, share local app.https://azherb.ning.com/groups/keepingchickens/forum/buy-sell-share-local-app2016-05-16T02:32:14.000Z2016-05-16T02:32:14.000ZKerry Audishohttps://azherb.ning.com/members/KerryAudisho

Hello,

I live in Chandler, new the VPA and I am very passionate about eating local foods. I have tried just shutting her out of the coop but when the others want to go in to lay it gets difficult. I put her in a wire crate but can't remove the plastic tray as I discovered the wire on the bottom of the crate underneath the tray is much larger and she would damage her legs if I raise it up. I can't put the crate in the coop run as I feel she would overheat left in one spot. I bought her inside and let her out twice a day to exercise with the others but shut the door of the coop. When the others go back in I bring her back in doors and put her in the crate. I do this so it won't be difficult to re-introduce her later and it seems to work. However, so far she still runs back to the coop and would go in if I hadn't shut the door. It's only been two days, so shall I just persevere and wait a bit longer? I go on vacation soon and want to break her but also don't want a re-introduction problem. I would berm up an area of the yard and make sure the coop was off the ground. The problem is I want to birds to free range. All a can come up with is keep them in the run for the 2 or 3 days the mud is at its worst. Any suggestions?
baby chicks?https://azherb.ning.com/groups/keepingchickens/forum/baby-chicks-12014-11-13T16:19:50.000Z2014-11-13T16:19:50.000Zbryanwhitebeyondthekitchengardenhttps://azherb.ning.com/members/bryanwhitebeyondthekitchengarden

Hi,

Bryan and I going to add some new baby chicks to our flock this spring- we like to order them from mypetchicken.com, because you can get them vaccinated for marek's disease- something our avian vet advised. But we need to have a minimum order of 15 in order to receive them any earlier than april6- it has to do with the cold temperatures at their end. We only want five- since we already have 5 girls living with us- is anyone interested in ordering some for delivery in the beginning of march? Preferably you'll want to take all ten, but at a few- so that we're not trying to coordinate with too many people! Please respond ASAP - they sell out quickly! Best way to contact me is through my email- miromadethis@gmail.com

thanks!

Miro

What is happening to my chicken??https://azherb.ning.com/groups/keepingchickens/forum/what-is-happening-to-my-chicken2014-10-31T23:34:54.000Z2014-10-31T23:34:54.000ZKelly Listonhttps://azherb.ning.com/members/KellyListon

I noticed this on two of my hens today.
